France Civil Defence

Assembly: 538 - Microrip

The French civil defence intervenes every summer to fight against forest fires in France and wherever it can be called in for reinforcement. Those missions have a significant physiological impact: intervention time, high ambient temperature, significant physical activity, etc. Besides breathability, the design in red, yellow and black is very important to them. They want to be recognised when responding to disasters abroad. We used the 538 Microrip complex, which has no membrane. More than 25 000 firemen are using that solution, which reduces heat stress and increases breathability.

538 Microrip - Jacket DSC

Material assembly 538 - Microrip

We are aware of the problems that might occur before, during and after fire interventions. You might be too hot before the intervention to begin with and it could be harder to evacuate perspiration efficiently. To solve those problems, we have created a light, resistant and very breathable assembly. It has a level two thermal protection.

Our solution with a RET < 9 m².Pa/w is rare in the market. After all, the lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric.

As there is no membrane in the chosen assembly, the high breathability reduces heat stress very well. The special retroreflective prism striping performs well in all weather conditions. The microprismatic technology reflects three times better than a striping with glass beads in rainy weather. It also has a better abrasion resistance.
