The Vendée fire department was the first department to equip its firemen with orange suits. The suits' retroreflective striping emphasises the contours of the firemen to improve their visibility. In addition, the suit has very high thermal qualities and good mechanical resistance thanks to the use of the 830 Twin assembly.
The short jacket has an elongated back. The upper side of the sleeves is slightly longer than the bottom to protect the top of the hands. A rescue grip was added to rapidly evacuate a firefighter if needed. Two types of retroreflective striping were used: the silver glass beads and the triple trim.
These high waist trousers have adjustable and removable braces. They are reinforced with coated and cut resistant Kevlar® and foam. In addition, the crotch and lower legs are reinforced. This suit was first created ten years ago and the firefighters are still very happy with their garments.
