Paris Fire Brigade

Assembly: 830 - Square

The Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP) asked to optimise the safety of its men. That includes thermal protection by increasing their escape time, maximising visibility, reducing heat stress and improving ergonomics. The colour of the BSPP’s garments, the third largest fire brigade in the world, used to be blue. Thanks to thorough research on visibility, Sioen Fire suggested to change to red, which they did. Over 9.000 firemen are now using this suit. You might have seen firefighters wearing this suit on footage of the Notre Dame fire.

Material assembly 830 - Square

The 830 Square assembly provides excellent protection during flashovers, (when the outershell is exposed to high temperatures, the fabric thickens instantly, creating additional air space and thus improving the protection of the firefighter.) In addition, this assembly provides thermal insulation and a significant reduction of heat stress. At the same time, it is waterproof, breathable and comfortable. It was especially designed for the Fire Brigade of Paris. This innovative product protects every BSPP firefighter on a daily basis.

Firefighter jacket
Reference: 2FF5F0PYS

The BSPP jacket now has less retroreflective striping, but it is used more efficiently. Thanks to the prismatic retroreflective striping with reinforced seams, the BSPP firemen are more visible in rainy weather. It complies with the EN ISO 20471 high visibility standard. Not only the striping and colour are new, but also the fabric and sizing.
